There have been several inquiries about selling Entertainment Books to out of town/state friends and family. Here are the instructions.
For out of town orders, here is something you will want to understand: The price that you see listed on the order envelope or the back of the Entertainment book is what they will pay. This price includes shipping and handling. So, if they were to order a book for Buffalo, NY, the envelope says it is $30. The screen would show a $25 price and then they would be charged $4.99 shipping. So, when people purchase a book from you personally and you hand them the book, part of the profit you are earning is the money they did not have to spend on shipping and handling. You will earn profit on the price of the book before the shipping. I can’t give you an exact figure, I don’t know if it is a percentage bracket or a chart that they use. But, you will get close to $12 per book.
The easiest way to sell Entertainment Books to out of towners (Gold C are not available for out of towners with this program) is through the email campaign tools. And, they have some pretty cool drawings for prizes too! It is very easy and I have used it before and not had problems with it spamming people. I would assume that nothing has changed….if you would rather not use the email function, I will put alternate instructions below…
Email campaign instructions (recommended):
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. Go to www.fundraising.entertainment.com
2. Select “Sellers Section” from the row of choices toward the top of the screen
3. Enter YOUR email address (or the one that you would like to be associated with this – some people will start an email address just for this, others use one that friends/family recognize
4. If you’ve not done emails from this email address before it will be starting a new account for you. That is fine, it’s what should happen.
5. Enter our school code 605361 – it will ask you to confirm it is for Family Academy of Christian Education in Westminster, CO. – so click that button (Westminster is my address not the school’s – but books are shipped to my house)
6. Then you will be asked to enter email addresses of people you’d like to invite to purchase an entertainment book.
7. There is a place for you to include a personal note as a “p.s.” to the people you are emailing. I ALWAYS use this section to let them know it will benefit my family directly and not just the school – we are unique in the way we do fundraisers. Friends and family would love to provide money to almost pay for a whole month of Jimmy’s awesome art class at FACE. Saying “if you purchase just one book that will provide almost enough money for Jimmy to have a whole month’s worth of Animal Kingdom Art with Mr. Dave!” will help them realize just how much it will mean to you. Since most classes are $17 and you make approx $12 (depending on the price of the book) it actually does almost pay for it.
8. You will know whether it is appropriate to check the “5 day reminder” box for the people you are sending to.
9. View a sample email or tell it to “go”
10. When you hear that someone has ordered a book, please let me know so when the reports come to me I will know where to assign credit.
Your emails may take 24-48 hours to send based on website traffic, etc. on the Entertainment server.
