There is a Talent Show Dress Rehearsal
Tuesday, March 16th, at 12:45pm in the chapel.
This rehearsal is mandatory for those who want to perform!

There will be a sign-up available starting March 9, for Talent Show
& Dress Rehearsal at the Main Table. 
What you must have for Dress Rehearsal:
* – Music or musician that will accompany you (CD’s or tapes), the title of your song, who it was written by, etc…
* – Dressed in your entire costume, from head to toe!
* – If you are playing an instrument, the piece you are playing, with the title and the composer.

The purpose of a dress rehearsal is to determine the information necessary for programs, determine what stage equipment is needed and to get a general idea of the line up. 

Have fun preparing for this event.  Please keep in mind that your audience will encompass all ages, so please keep   costumes modest and music appropriate.

The Art of Racing in the Rain ~ by Garth Stein 

If you’ve ever wondered what your dog is thinking, Stein’s third novel offers an answer. Enzo is a lab terrier mix plucked from a farm outside Seattle to ride shotgun with race car driver Denny Swift as he pursues success on the track and off. Denny meets and marries Eve, has a daughter, Zoë, and risks his savings and his life to make it on the professional racing circuit. Enzo, frustrated by his inability to speak and his lack of opposable thumbs, watches Denny’s old racing videos, coins koanlike aphorisms that apply to both driving and life, and hopes for the day when his life as a dog will be over and he can be reborn a man. When Denny hits an extended rough patch, Enzo remains his most steadfast if silent supporter. Enzo is a reliable companion and a likable enough narrator, though the string of Denny’s bad luck stories strains believability. Much like Denny, however, Stein is able to salvage some dignity from the over-the-top drama.

Great news!

We’re continuing the Saving Money Mom’s Group on Tuesdays. We’re going to be meeting during 2^nd hour in the foyer area (except for the 2^nd Tuesday of the month when we’ll meet in the chapel) so look for the two tables with the “Reserved for Mom’s Group – 2^nd Hour” signs. We want this to be a time of sharing, so if you are comfortable sharing your tips in a group setting, we’d love to hear what works for you!

There will be a classroom available for moms who want to be with their kids not in classes and prefer to use that as school time.

For the next two weeks we’re going to be talking money: budgeting, debt relief, saving for upcoming expenses, and a continuation of how to save at the grocery store and in the home.

February will be focused on food and the home. We’ll be discussing favorite recipes, preserving food, cleaning, and talking a little bit about food co-ops/buying groups.

March is Miscellaneous Month (say that 5 times as fast as you can-haha) We’ll be talking about a Physician’s Pantry – herbal and natural remedies, time management, how to involve your kids to make the running of your home as smooth as possible and sharing tips for teaching kids about money.

April – Our last gathering for the FACE calendar will be the first week of April. We’ll be sharing summer resources for your family. Don’t forget to bring your ideas, or you can email them to me to be added to the flier we’ll be handing out. nikinowell@gmail.com

Kordee will be continuing a sewing time during 5^th hour for those interested in gathering with a few other women to chat and use your creativity. You don’t sew? Bring another project to work on and join the group anyway.

We’d love to hear any feedback you may have about the Mom’s Group and we’re open to new ideas, so please let us know what topics you think would be helpful.

The Home Depot’s Kids Workshops offer useful projects including the creation of toolboxes, fire trucks and mail organizers, as well as more educational projects, such as a window birdhouse, bughouse or Declaration of Independence frame kit. The workshops teach children do-it-yourself skills and tool safety, while at the same time helping to instill a sense of accomplishment. Additionally, this fun time allows for quality one-on-one time between adults and children. In addition to the newly constructed project kit, each child receives a kid-sized orange apron, similar to The Home Depot associates’ aprons, and an achievement pin.
