 A Note about Lunch Hour

Please keep your children in the gym during lunch. No food is to be taken to any other parts of the church! In addition, your children must be under your complete supervision at all times.  There will be no supervision in the gym today by Miss Kathy so plan accordingly. The Spelling Bee for parents will be at 12:30, so grab your lunch and be ready to root for the participants. This is a fun event for all ages

Sewing Class For Moms 

It’s been a lot of fun and we can sew much better than before, but, today is the last class for the sewing moms. Thank you, Miss Kordee for your patience and humor!

Miss Yvonne’s Life of Faith Class is collecting non-perishable food, as well as things like: diapers, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, etc for the ministry at Northglenn Christian Church. Please share what you can.

Classes and Teacher Applications for 2010-11

Art. Music. Cooking. Science. Math. Physical Education. Did you know that FACE currently offers over 60 classes on Tuesdays? There is something for everyone from Preschoolers to the Adults that bring them, but there could be more.
If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “I wish (insert class title here) was offered at FACE,” now is your chance to let us know! We’re looking for new class ideas for the 2010/2011 school year and we’d love your input. Please send ideas and suggestions to cindy@faceschool.org. Your class idea may just meet the needs of another FACE family.

TESTING INFORMATION 

  It’s that time of year to think about testing for your children.  FACE requires that all students in odd numbered grades, starting in 3rd grade, to be tested or be evaluated.  Many families like to test their children each year – you don’t have to wait for an odd numbered grade to get a test!  We have tests available from K-12th grade, with several options to choose from (see below).

Please contact Cindy at 303-204-5191or cindy@faceschool.org to sign up for the proctored test or for any questions about testing.  Take-home tests can either be ordered at the website or by contacting Cindy.

*CAT 6 Complete Battery Plus: This is an achievement test (which tells you what your child knows), which you may administer to your children at home. The cost for all materials, including scoring and official report is $29.

 *InView: This is a cognitive test, which helps you know what your child is capable of learning.  It is optional, at an additional $10 to the test above.  It is available for children in 2nd-12th grades.

 *IOWA Test:  This is another widely used test.  There are additional requirements that must be met in order to administer this test.  The administrator must hold a 4 year degree or a teacher’s license.  Cost of the IOWA is $42.

 *CogAT: This is the cognitive test that can be given with the IOWA. The cost is an additional $16 to the IOWA test.

 Group (Proctored) Testing:  We will offer a proctored IOWA test on May 5 and May 6.  The cost for group testing is $62 (basic test) or $78 (basic plus CogAT).

 Stress-Free Evaluation: This evaluation is administered by Kordee Rose.  The cost is $55. Please sign up for an appointment at the table on Fridays or contact Cindy at cindy@faceschool.org.

Spelling Bees

FACE offers an annual Spelling Bee for parents and another Bee for students. Sign up at Tuesday school or contact Cindy.

Calling all interested yearbook staff
High school students that would like to serve on yearbook please email Amy Craddock by Jan 19 at craddockclan@comcast.net with a short statement of why you would like to work on the yearbook and what talents you would like to share.  8th grade students will be accepted in a training position with special permission. We will meet approximately once a month until April and May, then twice a month.  The first working meeting will be the first part of February at the Craddock home.  Contact Amy Craddock with any questions.
